Frequently Asked Questions
Where is the GADEF Memorial Arboretum located?
Our Memorial Arboretum sanctuary is situated within the campus grounds of Ekiti State University (EKSU) in Ado-Ekiti. Access for student researchers, botanists, and educational tours can be requested by reaching out to our coordinating office.
How can I join GADEF as a contractual farmer?
We onboard local smallholder and contractual farmers based in Ekiti State who are interested in seed collection, native nursery management, and forest boundary care. We provide seeds, nursery bags, training, and stipends. Contact our office to check program intake openings.
Can forestry/IT students from other universities apply?
Yes. While we have structured partnerships with Ekiti State University (EKSU) and the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), we accept applications from forestry, botany, agriculture, and environmental science students from other Nigerian universities based on space and seasonal capacity.
Is GADEF registered with the government?
Yes, GADEF is officially registered as a non-profit organization (Incorporated Trustee) with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) of Nigeria. Our financial files, activity logs, and audits are maintained transparently.
How do I confirm a donation or tree seedling sponsorship?
If you make a direct bank transfer or support a specific seedling tier, please email your transaction receipt to gadefekiti@gmail.com or send a message via our WhatsApp channel with your designated name for the botanical register.
